PICTURES TO PROVE IT: Day 2 - Canterbury

On Sunday, chasanctus and I made our way to Canterbury.

Along the way, we met up with noangel and kentladBen on the train. SEE - She is radiant and very lovely in person too.

Even down to the tips of her toes. Gratuitous LCAS gathering shoe pic.

Canterbury is a lovely town. We saw some of the sights on the way to the race route.

There's a famous cathedral there, too.

Here is where I'm not to mention chasanctus' sudden and very enthusiastic shopping spree. *Look, a space hopper!!!!*

noangel and I marveled at what was surely the fastest ferris wheel every made.
Trust me it was going really, really fast. (But not as fast as The chas shopping for gifts for mini-chas.

We arrived along the race course where we witnessed what I can only describe and the longest and most bizaar feat of marketing I have ever been subjected to. The event involved cars full of French people in odd costumes, driving very slowly and throwing things to the waiting crowd (us). It was our job to scream very loudly as they approached with products that are not sold in this country.

Free stuff being at stake, competition was fierce. Good women that we are noangel & I stood by as the men-folk snatched victory from the hands of small children.
This is Ben with his 'game-face' on and loot in hand. Please notice how noangel's hair sparkled in the sunlight.

Finally the race reached us. We were very lucky to have a fantastic view.

Actually, this was my fantastic view close to the finish.

I did manage to catch one of the bikers as he sped past. In. Last. Place.
And those people near him? They had champagne and did not share. *shakes fist when remembering, for second time today*

One of Kent's finest (copper) took our group pix. This is what happened when he used my camera. See noangel's journal for another version of this picture and this incident. I really I was trying to be helpful. And for it I was called 'cheeky'! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
NOTE FOR LaMit: This is my Glastonbury mud-hiding dress. Stubborn mud stains blend well with the overall color scheme.

On the way back to the train, Ben, noangel and I stopped at this mysterious little place, while chas did, well, you can guess by now.
WOMAN NOTE: And I'm not this fat, it's the dress. Really. But it's a cute dress and skirt. Srsly.

That. Is. All.
